One year after its launch at COP30, the Afro-Descendant Action Plan (PAS Afrodescendente) is advancing efforts to secure territorial rights, strengthen territorial and environmental management, expand regional cooperation, and mobilize resources for Afro-descendant Peoples and their organizations across Latin America.

This event will present progress across the Plan’s four targets for 2030, including the achievement of its goal to secure one million hectares of land, new investment commitments for territorial and environmental management, Ecuador’s inclusion in the initiative, and progress toward mobilizing US$35 million. Representatives of governments, Afro-descendant organizations, and allies will discuss implementation priorities, regional collaboration, and the resources and mechanisms needed to accelerate progress toward the Plan’s remaining targets by 2030.
