Congo Basin: Presentation of the Kinshasa Call to Action from the One Basin, One Vision Conference and Launch of the REPALEAC Fund
Date: 11/17/2026
Nom de la localisation: Blue Zone — DRC Pavilion
Début et de fin: 11:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. GMT+3
The Congo Basin is home to the world’s second-largest tropical rainforest and plays a critical role in global climate regulation, biodiversity conservation, and sustainable development. Indigenous Peoples and local communities have safeguarded these forests for generations, yet achieving lasting climate and conservation outcomes requires stronger recognition of their rights, leadership, and access to financing.
At COP31, join us for an event to advance a shared vision for the region. The event will present the Kinshasa Call to Action, adopted at the March 2026 One Basin, One Vision Conference, which outlines priorities for strengthening land and forest tenure rights, empowering Indigenous institutions, mobilizing resources, and advancing community-led conservation and sustainable livelihoods.
A key highlight will be the official launch of the REPALEAC Fund, an Indigenous-led financing mechanism designed to improve direct access to climate, biodiversity, and conservation finance for Indigenous Peoples and local communities. Through presentations and a multi-stakeholder dialogue, participants will explore opportunities to mobilize investment, advance land tenure commitments, strengthen regional collaboration, and translate the Kinshasa Call to Action and REPALEAC Vision 2030 into action.
