Land degradation does not affect all communities equally. Indigenous Peoples, Afro-descendant Peoples, and local communities often face disproportionate environmental, social, and economic impacts due to historical exclusion, discrimination, and insecure rights.
This session will explore how environmental racism shapes vulnerability in degraded territories and highlight community-led solutions that advance land restoration, justice, and resilience. Participants will discuss pathways to ensure that restoration efforts recognize rights, address inequalities, and center the leadership of frontline communities.
