Continuing the mapping of lands and spaces used by people of African descent carried out in 2024, this edition incorporates a maritime and coastal dimension that allows for a more complete understanding of the complex network of relationships between Afro-descendant Peoples and the marine environment.

Based on information from 26 countries (16 island and 10 continental), the study integrates census, geospatial, and climate data, along with stories, perceptions, and knowledge from the people of the Greater Caribbean. Under this comprehensive approach, priority areas for conservation were identified that are affected by determining variables such as coastal flood risk, urban pressure, and the potential impacts of climate change on marine and coastal ecosystems.
