RRI’s annual review of the global state of rights and resources for 2014-2015, Looking for Leadership: New inspiration and momentum amidst crises, highlighted 2014 as a year in which unconventional leaders emerged from Indigenous Peoples and local communities’ organizations, courts, and corporations to offer inspiration and solutions at scale. New research presented in the report also argued that UN-REDD strategies should feature securing community and indigenous tenure more prominently for any chance of success.
