RRI led a session on “Land tenure, livelihoods and forest governance” at the Prince of Wales’ International Sustainability Unit’s Meeting on Forests, Climate Change, and Development in London. The session, held January 26, ensured that issues of land tenure, livelihoods, forest governance, and fostering collaborative partnerships with Indigenous Peoples were included in the outcomes of this high-level meeting. The meeting’s outcome document recommended that the World Bank and key donors build better awareness of the role of local and indigenous communities in ensuring forest conservation and climate change mitigation.
