What is the Livelihoods Learning Community?

The Livelihoods Learning Community will be a free, 5-week virtual and facilitated learning space for members of the RRI coalition who meet the participant profile.

It will include:

  • Short readings, videos, and assignments, to be reviewed at home by participants
  • A weekly facilitated Live Session on Zoom, for discussion and collective learning and presentations from speakers with lived experience in creating community-based livelihoods
  • A moderated private WhatsApp chat to ask questions, share ideas, offer inspiration and get feedback

Learning Objectives

This course will be an introduction to sustainable livelihoods for Indigenous Peoples, Afro-descendent Peoples, and local communities, as well as for project managers who work locally in livelihoods initiatives. We’ll focus on topics and case studies crucial for understanding sustainable livelihoods and hope to inspire the development of new livelihoods and income-generating activities, with a special focus on opportunities for women and youth.
