National Workshop on Gender, REDD+, Community Forestry, and Tenure Rights in DRC
Date: 01/01/1970
Together with local Collaborators, the Rights and Resources Initiative is partnering with the World Wildlife Fund (WWF); the Ministry of Environment, Conservation, and Sustainable Development; and the Ministry of Women, Family, and Children to host a national workshop on gender, REDD+, community forestry, and tenure rights in DRC. The workshop will provide training to key actors on the intersection of gender with REDD+, community forestry, and tenure rights, with the goal of developing a road map and action plan to mainstream gender into these processes.
Participants include government officials, civil society members (including Indigenous Peoples and local communities), and international partners. The workshop will build on efforts to raise awareness about the importance of gender in the country’s frameworks on REDD+ and community forestry, incorporating experiences and lessons learned from other countries on gender and tenure rights.
