Plurality in Public Policy: Incorporating the perspective of Indigenous, Afro-Descendant and Peasant Women

The Coalition Rights and Resources Initiative (RRI), in alliance with the Departmental Federation of Peasant Women of Cundinamarca (FEDEMUCC) and the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana, will be holding the Fourth International Gender Workshop in Bogota, Colombia. This event will welcome representatives from different organizations and key actors from ten countries in Latin America. The aim of the workshop is to assess progress and identify new opportunities to strengthen the participation of Indigenous, Afro-descendant and peasant women in public policy decision-making related to land tenure, climate change, and sustainable economic development.

This event, part of a series of workshops supported by RRI since 2012 in different countries of the region, seeks to leverage the debate and find more effective strategies to promote the tenure rights of Indigenous, Afro-descendant and peasant women.

This is a three day event that will consist of two days (August 12-13) for discussion and development of recommendations for ensuring that this population of women participate in policy decision-making processes with regards to the three key themes of the workshop, as well as a public event (August 14) to deliver the recommendations to Latin American government officials and agents of international organizations.

We cordially invite you to attend the delivery of these recommendations on Friday, August 14 at 9:00 a.m.
