A Historical Institutional analysis of contemporary forest rights reform
The Reserach Programme Consortium for Improving Institutions for Pro-Poor Growth (IPPG)” School of Environment & Development at the University of Manchester has recently released Redressing ‘historical injustice’ through the Indian Forest Rights Act 2006: A Historical Institutional analysis of contemporary forest rights reform. Co-authored by RRI Fellow” Madhu Sarin” the report highlights the historical origins of forest rights deprivation and contemporary processes through which local people are seeking to restore their forest rights” taking the case of the Indian Forest Rights Act 2006 as an example to illustrate wider issues in historical institutional theory.
