A press release by the Mexican Network of Peasant Forestry Organizations (Red MOCAF) explains that the new policy reforms” approved on April 24″ strengthen the rights of farming cooperatives” indigenous communities and small landholders” especially regarding rights to forest carbon. The reforms also recognize the communities' sustainable maintenance of forest resources.
