Around 100 indigenous community representatives across the world will be attending the Conference of Indigenous Peoples in Rio de Janiero on June 17-19″ being held in conjunction with the UN’s Rio+20 Conference on Sustainable Development on June 22″ 2012.

The participants will represent Asia” Africa” the Arctic” Latin America” Eastern Europe” North America and the Pacific. In addition Indigenous Peoples from Brazil” under the umbrella of COAIB (Coordination of Indigenous Organizations in the Brazilian Amazon)” and Comite InterTribal will also attend and present the results of national events they have held before the conference.
