20th Anniversary Report

As the world’s largest solidarity network for Indigenous, local community, and Afro-descendant rights, this year RRI celebrates its 20th anniversary with a report that traces all of our work throughout the past two decades.

RRI, which began with just five institutions in 2005, is today over 200 members strong. We include Indigenous networks, Afro-descendant leaders, women leaders, youth activists, research scientists, foresters, and allies across the world. This 20th anniversary report is a celebration of how far we have come and what our journey truly amounts to: the power of collective action and the common spirit of responsibility and ancestral wisdom taught so well by our elders— so urgently needed in our turbulent and divided world right now.

The report hosts two decades of working together across continents, cultures, and movements to build a more just and sustainable planet for Indigenous Peoples, local communities, and Afro-descendant Peoples – particularly the women and youth within them. It is being launched in English, Nepali, French and Spanish.
