Green Advocates organized a workshop in Liberia On August 6 to address the challenges associated with implementing regulations for pit-sawing in Liberia. More than 35 participants from five counties, including pit-sawyers and community leaders, participated and analyzed all provisions within the Chainsaw Regulation, identifying several preliminary implementation challenges. Participants recommended that the Forestry Development Authority commission a comprehensive needs assessment and a diagnostic analysis of the Chainsaw Regulation as a way of clearly mapping and addressing all potential implementation challenges.
