African Women?s Network for Community Management of Forests (REFACOF) hosted a regional workshop on gender and land and forest tenure in Africa, gathering Indigenous women form across Africa to exchange information and experiences regarding the gender dimensions of tenure systems, REDD processes and human rights/legal instruments in Africa. Participants developed a detailed workplan and strategy to advance gender equity in forest and land tenure through targeted advocacy with political actors, capacity-building for women, and ensuring the participation of women in decision-making processes.
