Forest Peoples’ Program and Institut Dayakologi have initiated a one-year workplan to collaborate with local communities and government officials in Sanggau District, West Kalimantan, in promoting informed and coordinated engagement in spatial planning processes to secure rights and livelihoods and avoid further human rights violations and intimidation by industrial concessions in Sanggau. Further consultations with communities, village leaders and local government will be conducted to revise customary maps and explore how these interactions can be inserted into national spatial planning processes.
