In Cameroon, FPP?s work to train Baka communities in the Ngoyla Mintom to map their lands culminated in formal presentations of the maps and dialogue to local government authorities at Mintom (October 24-25) and Lomi? (November 15-16). At the local level this has resulted in the training and empowerment of Baka communities, and the education of local authorities on Indigenous Peoples? rights. These processes and the maps and recommendations by the Baka are being used to feed into CED, FPP and Okani?s work on the revision of the 1994 Forest Code to help reshape national policy on forests and forest peoples.
