The Forest Peoples Programme (FPP) and the Center for Environment and Development (CED) trained the indigenous Bagyeli and Baka communities of Cameroon on REDD, rights and governmental and regional positions. These trainings aim to build the capacity of Cameroonian indigenous forest peoples to better understand climate change, the implications of REDD, and to effectively represent their interests at multiple levels. Following the trainings, seven community consultation teams were created, joining representatives from indigenous communities with civil society support. These teams conducted community consultations on REDD and climate change in June 2010.
