Cameroon Ecology hosted a Multi-Actor Forum on Community Rights: Links between land and forest tenure in recognizing community tenure rights. Local communities, land and forest ministry representatives, media, local officials and mayors, traditional chiefs, indigenous peoples participated in this workshop, which was the capstone for a series of smaller workshops and related activities on community rights mapping. Participants developed recommendations for local and national government bodies and a coordinated strategy to influence the reform of the forestry law in favor of community rights. A coordination platform for community rights and tenure reforms was established and a road map for advocacy and influencing the reform process was developed.
