The Rural Development Institute, Yunnan Academy of Social Sciences (RDI-YASS) completed two case studies in Lijiang and Diqing, Yunnan Province, China, as the final two of five studies within a broad survey of collective forest management practices in Yunnan. Using comparative analysis, these two studies focused on forest management approaches in ecological forest area contrasted with those in commercial forest areas following China?s tenure reform in 2006.
