Intercooperation began a new project called “Opportunities, Risks and Challenges of REDD/PES Mitigation Mechanisms for Latin American Indigenous and Peasant Communities” which aims to analyze the opportunities, risks and potential impacts on indigenous and peasant communities through their participation in Payments for Ecosystems Services (PES) mechanisms, and to contribute to determining its relevance to the future implementation of REDD+. This project builds off of past experiences to formulate future training in REDD+ and PES with indigenous communities.
