RRI’s Mesoamerican Dialogue on Forests, Governance, and Climate Change, which took place in San Salvador, El Salvador, brought together participants from across Central America and Mexico, including ministers, climate change policymakers, donors, Indigenous Peoples, local communities and other members of civil society to facilitate discussion on how each sector perceives and proposes engagement with Climate Change issues, particularly those concerning REDD+. The catalyzed discussion on mitigation from adaptation strategies, and how these strategies might inform and produce a shared regional strategy for government and civil society in lead up to COP16.
