The Global Alliance of Community Forestry (GACF) annual meeting, “Strengthening community forestry networks and federation to secure tenure rights, strengthen community-based forest enterprise and enhance livelihoods of forest-dependent poor,” included members from Nepal, India, Thailand, Lao PDR, Pakistan, Cameroon and Guatemala. The meeting identified emerging issues in community forestry, including the food and energy crisis and the need for climate change adaptation mechanisms, and discussed means by which to voice community concerns at a regional and global level.
