RRI Partners and Collaborators in Nepal held extensive consultations with Indigenous Peoples, community forest user groups (CFUGs), women, Dalits, and minority and distant user groups from 75 districts for inclusion in new legislation to secure land and forest rights. The resulting position paper, “Common Position for Ensuring People’s Rights to Forest and Natural Resources 2016,” will form the basis of upcoming advocacy efforts to secure a new, comprehensive Forest Rights Law in Nepal.
