La Paz – Last week CIFOR held an international workshop on community forestry and promoting community forest management” from April 23 – 25 in Santa Cruz” Bolivia. The main goal of the workshop was to put in place a platform from which to formalize a dialogue between the Bolivian government and national organizations about the most crucial policy issues pertinent to moving forward the community forestry agenda.
The event was formally called by the Bolivian Ministry of Rural Development” Agriculture and Environment” the Forest Superintence of Bolivia” and the Bolivian Confederation of Indigenous People. It was hosted by CIFOR with RRI as part of the Listening Learning Sharing Launch (LLSL) of the RRI and as part of CIFOR's extensive research project into Improving Equity and Livelihoods in Community Forestry research project.
