CIFOR's Poverty and Environment Network (PEN) has recently received major support from DFID to further research on the role of tropical forests in poverty alleviation.

ThePEN network” a joint project between CIFOR and the University of EastAnglia (UK)” is the world's first global comparative and quantitativereview of the role of tropical forests in alleviating poverty. The£500″000 grant from DFID will support implementation of the PEN project”Tropical forests in poverty alleviation: from household data toglobal-comparative analysis.”
