During a meeting with the Ministry of Economy, Planning and Regional Development, the Ministry of Forests and Wildlife, and the Ministry of Domains and Land Affairs hosted by Cameroon Ecology in Cameroon, representatives of the ministries agreed to formalize the coordination among the three ministries with a Memorandum of Understanding, and to extend the coordination to other relevant ministries affecting forests, such as the Ministry of Mining and Ministry of Agriculture. The ministries agreed to incorporate tenure issues into their respective policies, and on coordinating all policies affecting forests and lands, especially in the context of the new land use law passed in May 2011.
