A multi-stakeholder dialogue on pit-sawing, organized by Green Advocates, led to a review and validation of the Draft Chainsaw Regulations. The participants agreed to recommit themselves to the challenges facing the pit-sawing sector, including obtaining further comments on the draft regulations. The 35 participants were from the Liberia Chainsaw and Timber Dealers Union, the Forestry Development Authority, Ministry of Internal Affairs, National Investment Commission, the World Bank, UNMIL-Civil Affairs, the Ministry of National Security, the Environmental Protection Agency, the Federation of Liberian Youth, as well as representatives civil society, from communities and small-scale enterprises.
