Sahelian Regional workshop on “Moving beyond Forestry laws” through collective learning and action

For this conference" ICRAF and RRI brought together representatives from governments" donors" NGOs
and forest communities from the Sahel to discuss ways to move beyond current forestry laws
and improve forest management in the region. The Sahelian regional workshop was
organized with the collaboration of GTZ" IDRC" IFAD" Sahel Eco" CORAF/WECARD" the
EU" and attended by RRI partners CIFOR and Intercooperation. The workshop created a
platform for collaborative research" community participation" devolution and decentralization
of management responsibilities and collective learning and action among Sahelian
countries.
