The Rights and Resources Initiative” with particular involvement by RRI Partner Forest Trends” will be supporting a conference focused on strategies for integrated watershed management” environmental restoration and sustainable development in Haiti from 16 – 17 June 2010.

The purpose of the meeting will be to build more common understanding on critical issues and opportunities” and mobilize national and international commitment for an ambitious and comprehensive strategy to advance environmental restoration and rural development in ways that dramatically reduce rural poverty and make significant progress in restoring Haiti’s rural landscape. The meeting will take stock of current rural environmental restoration initiatives and approaches” discuss key lessons from the past” assess emerging opportunities for innovative and more effective interventions” and identify priority steps and policy reforms to scale‐up the level of effort and impact in the immediate future.
