By engaging these often-disparate groups through dialogues and sharing country-level knowledge and research on the implications of tenure and market policies for forest-dependent communities as well as collaborating with diverse members of the Coalition, we ensure the institution of community tenure legislation where none exists and continue to improve implementation of existing, yet unenforced policies.

RRI prioritizes country-level involvement where there is:

  • Strategic political opportunity for substantial reform.
  • Strong demand from credible local civil-society organizations and governments that are able to engage in and support such reform.
