FECOFUN commences Forest Caravan 2010 campaign
"Campaign for Inclusion and Good Governance in Community Forestry,
Rights of Local Communities over Natural Resource and their Recognition in the New Constitution"
The nation-wide campaign is bringing together community forestry stakeholders to demand that the new constitution recognize the rights of local communities over their natural resources. The Federation of Community Forestry Users, Nepal (FEC
OFUN) has chosen the slogan “Campaign for Inclusion and Good Governance in Community Forestry, Rights of Local Communities over Natural Resource and their Recognition in the New Constitution” for the 10-day campaign. The campaign simultaneously began on 4th April 2010 in 10 different districts where thousands of people gathered to participate. Ghanshyam Pandey, Chairperson of FECOFUN along with several other representatives of the organization were p
resent at the various commencement events. Both event leaders and community participants used the gatherings as opportunities to express their concerns on various topics, including the formation of the new Constitution and the issue of land conservation. Each day of the campaign will be summarized by a press release (see below).

Congratulation to FECOFUN for such an initatives. It is a great idea to talk on inclusion. Hope this will bring some new ligts in CF movements. Wishing them all the best.
