Training workshop in Lao PDR to build capacity among local researchers
As part of the research project on livelihoods and community forestry in Lao PDR, RRI Partners and collaborators are working to build research capacity among local researchers through an active-learning and support process. On February 25th and 26th, RRI Partners organized a training workshop in Lao PDR on Research and Analysis.
The workshop covered elements of research and analysis, including research methods and ethics of field work, formulation of research questions and design of research methods, data sorting, organizing interviews, and developing data analysis strategy.
This training workshop was part of the regional activities underway in Lao PDR for the CIFOR-RRI research project "Improving Equity and Livelihoods in Community Forestry - Global action research in support of rights and resources." RRI Partners working in Lao PDR have recently engaged in a new phase of research, focused on villagers' perceptions of livelihood improvements from community forestry projects.
